Okay, okay. I could not resist.
This came from an email article I receive called Vipre Security News.
If you have to use a non secure, or one you feel is not secure public hotspot, you can sign on to this site,www.hidemyass.com, click on the *hide my ass* button and surf securely. Yes, I know the name requires a sense of humor to deal with, and it made me laugh, but if you need to be secure in this internet world, and must do some web work in the public sector this could save it. Smile.

Wow will have to see how it works with iOS. Pretty cool, probably acts as a proxy or similar technology.

Well, I must say this, it doesn't work with my school censoring program, not even httpS proxies do. I honestly think that no company, including M86, the company that made the censoring software, should have such power over the Internet.

First, the idea that this is "secure" is laughable. Security is my deal, so I'll say now that it's not anywhere near it.
First, if you're trying to use it to get around a proxy (like was already posted about at a school), if the proxy is worth anything it won't matter.
Second, the main use for this is to hide your activities when you're doing something illegal, which it doesn't do very well, since you have to stack proxies to make this worth anything.
Third, this still uses an http stream, so everything isn't ran through https, which makes it just as insecure as running through normal communications.
If you really do want a setup that works and is secure for public networks, check out VPN (openVPN is the most popular), and if you want anonymity, check out TOR (The onion router).

HTH,
